![]() I have searched these forums and can't find anything about how to do the links at the top of the page for simpl "Login" and the "Register". Only one or two threads are from like 2003 and 2004 so I don't know if it is relevent to my version. (I am now on the 4.1.8 )
For the "Login" link - I want it to basically put the auth box that is in the left menu in the main area.....but without the styling of the left menu (and then I want to remove it from the left menu). Then once the person is logged in, I want them directed to a page that offers to go home or to view "My Account" (also want the "Login" link to change to "My Account" Link and remove the "Register" link) And maybe a simple verification message like: Welcome [Username]. For the "My Account" link - I want it to go to a user details page, not just the edit profile page. On the User details page I want a section that simply states the profile info with a button to edit. Then the next section I want Order history listed. Then a third section that shows wish list. If anyone can give me guidance as to where to make changes I would be most appreciative. Thanks, Sassy |

![]() This is the best solution, I use it on every site we do:

![]() Yeah - that is the one I found but it is from 2004, a much earlier version than mine, and even after going through 6 pages of messages, I can't make heads or tails of what truly worked.....
And I have tried to go to the few sites that were actually linked to see how it worked for them, but of the 4 I found so far - they must be out of business or moved to a new domain as I get page can not be founds.... Reading only code - doesn't tell me it truly is what I want. Also - it starts with the premis that the link should be "My Account"....I don't want that I want it to be "Login" (when I am NEW to a site I don't expect to already have an account, so I want to find a link that allows me to login or register - AFTER I AM logged in, then yes, I want to see a link for "My Account" ) which takes it to a page that is basically the box that is in the left menu - only asks for username, pass and has button to login or register new user and link to recover password - AFTER the person clicks the Login page I want it to go to a My Account page which has sections that combine the seperate pages "Profile", "Order History", "Wish List" or anything else I want to add for a customer to view. Also there are three seperate posts about how do do something, they are specific about what they are doing. So like on message #69 it says only "Works well with X-cart 4.1.3" but it doesn't reference exactly which worked well. So I don't know if they are refering to the code way back in Message #1 from 2004 or if they are referring to what shan posted later in about 2005 sometime,..... The second to last message is someone that says they cleaned it up, zipped it and has a readme to explain how to install it. (from message # 75) I like how his My Account link does go to a login page, but I can't see where it goes after that since I don't want to create a bogus on his live store. But the very next message says they got an error - again they don't reference which of the 70+ messages they are replying to so I don't know if this error is due to them using the code from an earlier message or is this error after trying the new code in the very previous message. |

![]() That is exactly what the mod does? It may be an old post, but the concept still applies....you just need to tweak it a bit to do what you want. All you need to do is simply change 'My Account' to 'Login'. You can even get it to switch based on if the user is logged in or not.
As with most mods in the forum, they are never going to be exactly what you want, you need to try them out and modify them to what you want them to do ![]()
