![]() When designing pages for the cart what resolution should I be looking at.
Right now I have most of the pages that will display well in 1024 x 768 Some of the pages seem to scrunch up in the 800 x 600 display. Which resolution should I design for? |

![]() Here is the latest resolution data:
http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_display.asp As you can see, there are still some 800x600 folks out there, but 1024x768 is by far the most popular resolution. You need to determine for yourself who to target based on your customer's demographics. Sites catering to the elderly for example may want to keep 800x600 optimization, but I have found that targeting 1024x768 is your best bet to maximize selling space and preventing 'empty' space on higher resolution (laptop) computers.

![]() Thanks Balinor, the information the link provided was good to know. Because you mentioned sites that cater to the elderly, which we do, I thought I should check check the visitors environment statistics. For the month of May we had 13.4% of our visitors in the 800 x 600. So I don't think I am going to worry about the lower resolutions.
Thanks again for your insight. |
