Pull Customer Email in Help.php TPLs

I've been altering the .tpls relating to the help.php section of the site.

When a customer is logged in, I want to be able to use/display their email. Using {$customer.email} or {$email} doesn't work.

Any idea why and how I can pull this?

I believe that variable is:

{$userinfo.email}
