Registered Trademark shows up wrong in crumbs

Default Registered Trademark shows up wrong in crumbs
I'd like to use the Registered Trademark symbol on one of my categories. It shows up fine in my category listing on the left and also in the title within the center - as well as in product names. However, in the crumbs it appears as &#174. Any idea how to fix this?

Part of me was hoping this issue would've been resolved with the 4.4.1 patch but it wasn't. If anyone has any suggestions as to how to fix this issue I would greatly appreciate it. The registered mark is showing up wrong in both the crumbs and in the Bestsellers menu. I've attached an image as an example.

I have submitted this issue to QT for support. I will post any solutions that they provide.
