I am looking to find what part of the CSS I could find where to change the background white images for the category images and also page detail background image colors?

I've looked through some of the CSS pages and tried to change them in the custom CSS settings but it doesn't seem to update the larger images (I was able to change the smaller detail images however)

Sample images are attached as well.

Any info would be appreciated thanks!!

Total newb, but it seems that you will have to adjust your picture size in Photoshop (or other image program) or use the custom css tool - Navigate to Look and Feel then click images and you should see the default image settings to modify the picture size. God bless you!

The image size in the backend can be changed but does not always tightly fit the image thumbnails - some white will still show through. I did find the CSS for the product end of things so it is black. But I could not find the CSS for the grid view for the thumbnails.

Any direct help would definitely be appreciated.

As far as I see there are no white borders on your website at the moment.

We were able to use custom CSS to take care of it on the product detail page. But I couldn't find the right CSS to take care of it on the grid listing.

Here is the rule that adds the white padding above and below images:

#content .products div.product-photo, .products-grid div.product-photo {
    background: #fff;
    padding: 10px 0;
    margin-bottom: 20px;
    border-radius: 0;
}

So, in your custom CSS you should add an overriding rule for "#content .products div.product-photo, .products-grid div.product-photo" (perhaps, you should also add "body" in front of it) that will either set the background color to black, or reset the padding and the background size to zero, or both.
