Then there is probably an error in yor $sql query or you didn't assign the new array as "salesproducts"

- This is strange if I used another name other than "salesproducts" or "newproducts" I also get blank pages.

Why don't you send me a private message with your tpls and the on_sale.php and sales_items.php page, and I can see where you are going wrong and correct it.
