Default Selling by Weight

Hello,

What options do I have for selling products by weight (grams).

Like a sliding scale for example:

1-50 grams is $2.00 per gram
51-250 grams is $1.75 per gram

And so on?

Any add on's for this?

Thanks

Yes.

In actuality, "regular" and whole sale customers will have different pricing.

So yea, it will be different.

1-50 grams is $2.00 per gram
51-250 grams is $1.75 per gram

I may be missing something here, but I believe you can set this up with wholesale trading as cherie suggested. you can define different quantity levels and discount levels based on membership.
So the quantity just becomes grams, and the discounts apply based on qty.

Regular (All) customers can also benefit from bulk pricing. Did you look at that link?

Sorry for the delay.

Wholesale will only do quantity.

Wholesale and Regular customers all get the same price.

This is based off weight.

So,

1-50 total grams is $2.00 each
50-100 total grams is $1.85 each.

30 widgets and they weigh 2 grams each.

30 x 2 grams = 60 total grams (so the price is $1.85 each)

30 x 1.85 = $55.50

Thoughts?

Why can't you just use quantity for weight? If you can't sell it in 1 gram increments, and must sell in 2 grams at a time, then you set the discount based on how many 2 gram "widgets" they buy. If they buy 25 then it is equal to 50 grams. So you set the quantity discount to kick in at 26 items. It doesn't have to calculate based on the products actual weight, you can do that for it by setting the quantity discount levels. if a product weighs 1.5 grams and you want to give a discount after 15 grams, then set the quantity discount level to 10. Make sense?

Thanks for your reply. That would work, but they have 500 products and the price of silver changes daily.

There are 2 categories that this "price list" adhear to.

So it needs to be tied to the category because the customer would need to change the category pricing many times.

At the very least they could tell us when pricing changes and we could edit the SQL file, to aliviate a having to create a control panel for them to edit.

Thoughts?

Thanks
