I only have one category so I am trying to make the front page go directly to the single category listing. This would be the same as clicking on the category.

Basically I have a short paragraph at the top of the front page and nothing else.
I really would like to take that paragraph and put it at the top of the product listing page.

Does anyone know if there is a wysiwyg editor for these pages?

Let me clarify, would you like to display all your products on front page? In this case, you simply need to define all your products as featured. Or you would like to add link to your product listing on your home page? In this case, edit the Catalog > Front page section in your admin area and add this link.

WYSIWYG editor works on both front page and category details pages in admin area.

I want the user to go directly to the page where they can choose a product to buy, just like if they click on the link. So basically no extra steps for the user. I would like the listing to be the same as if you clicked on the category and had a list. So while turning on featured shows them its still only part of it.

You can hide the title Featured products by CSS or by altering the text variable and it will make it look exactly the same. Anyway, in another topic, we decided that we will try to create a mod that will implement the product listing to the home page next week.

In this case, you need write your own skin, because the HTML code of home page is defined in different templates. Once you decide what exactly changes you want to apply, we can discuss how you can apply each of them.

Oh sigh, if writing the skin was similar to using dreamweaver it might not be so bad

I have meanwhile almost got the site close enough to use. So if I can get the last few things figured out like the home page and the continue shopping button then I am all set, I hope

Hi Mark!

I am back to support after webinar. Could you please let me know what you have decided about changing the home page? Does the solution of simply renaming Featured products header will work for you or you need something more complex?

That works OK, I made a button on the menu bar that hopefully users will see to take them back to the full product listing.
