Thanks for the reply. Yes I just checked that again and all conditions are met. I just do not get it. Nothing in error logs in Xcart nor in X-payments either. ...to be continued I'm afraid.

Got it working - I rebuilt my Apache. Very strange. Also noticed that when I use libCURL or cURL for the HTTPS preferred module, HTTPS was much faster than when using Net::SSLeay. Thanks again for trying to help Vasillis

What do you mean, you rebuilt Apache? Did you re-install it on your remote server?

Recompiled it on my production server. I suspect one of the libs got corrupted or something. In the process I upgraded several lib files to later versions. Still all that was there before recompile was in compliance with the xpay server reqs. This issue was a real puzzler as well as time consumer. libcurl or PDO mySQL were my suspects btw.
