Having some errors with the Xcart v4.2 after attempting to upgrade servers. We switched to a larger server within the Verio hosting provider and much of the website did not take. So we switched back immediately to our old dataplan, but apparently much of the website did not go back to the original settings.

To isolate a particular area that we are having problems, I'm inquiring for help in the area of the static web pages portion that is giving trouble.

For instance, when I go to modify/add static web pages I recieve an error message that states: "Cannot save file: please check the write permissions."

My limited technical knowledge brought me to attempt to problem solve this by using the webmaster mode feature and I was still unable to modify or add static pages. Next I read a write up on how to reset write-permissions in our Verio control panel and I double-checked those settings to find that we are set up to read, write and execute without admin authentication in both of our Xcart related root folders.

Any help on where to look for the cause of static pages not having write permissions would be helpful.

A couple other errors possibly related:

-The server switch has effected our contact us page and we are recieving blank emails with the orders.
-Also, our database doesn't seem to be taking to images we add through the xcart interface, but it is not giving any direct error. The images just do not show up. Suspecting a database setting error is the culprit on this. Or we are out of space.
-On the initial server switch Our host provider indicated an error was related to the PHP.ini file. After switching back it may still be at the root of the problem.

You need to also make sure the pages themselves are set to writable (666)

Thanks for the quick reply Ryan, where do I find the write permissions for the pages themselves?

You should be able to change the file permissions through Cpanel or your FTP program.
