Hi

Once again my complete lack of template editing knowledge has come back to haunt me!

I am trying to edit the text on my home page. I not only want to change the text ABOVE my main image, but also to add some BELOW the image.

I think I have found the correct template - customer/home_main.tpl - but I cannot edit it, the operation fails.

I'm not sure what the rules are about adding my web address in the forum so I haven't.

Can anyone help?

That isn't the template - the text on the home page is customer/main/welcome.tpl, but you can't actually edit the text in the template, they are all language variables. You can edit them via webmaster mode, or in the 'languages' area of your admin.

Hello - thanks for trying to help me again!

I can edit the text above the image using the languages thing, but am not sure how to get it to sit below the main image. Should I put my web address in here so you can see what I mean?

If you want to move the text, you have to move the language variable, txt_welcome, in the welcome.tpl file.

Ok, but if I move that variable - won't all the text move? Can I just leave some where it is, and add more further down the page? Is there a way of splitting this variable into two places?

Ah, ok, then you want to create a new variable - call it txt_welcome2. Then in welcome.tpl, place this where you want it to appear:

{$lng.txt_welcome2}
