Default I Lost My Search box in head.tpl

Hello Group

I actually changed something to almost look what I want. However I lost my search box and I do not know how to put it back. Below is the code for head.tpl
Quote:
{* $Id: head.tpl,v 1.28 2003/04/24 09:50:33 svowl Exp $ *}
<TABLE align=center border=0 cellPadding=0 cellSpacing=0 class=HeadBox width=100%>
<TR background="{$ImagesDir}/top1.gif" width="44" height= "104" border=0>
<TD valign="top" colspan="2" background="{$ImagesDir}/top1.gif"></TD>
</TR>
</TABLE>

How do I get the search box back on the left side where it was under what I have?

What I do is copy the file that is there now (the one that does not work) and paste it to notepad.

Then click restore file (this should put the searchbox back).

Then compare the two to see if you can figure out where you made your mistake.

Hello DogByteMan & Group

Yes, I see you did on your templates excatly what I want to do. I changed the head.tpl for my own header. The trick is how do I get the next row with the serach engines and the items online row.

If I can get this figured out I think I will be fine. Every time I make a change that search box is giving me trouble.

I am so close. I am going to try your suggestion. It seems like I have to add another row for the search part.

You didn't remove top2.gif compleatly from head.tpl did you?

Just edit top2.gif to be blank don't lose it. It makes the space.

Hello

Looking at my code above; yes, top2.gif is removed. I will put it back and have a go at a new try of making heaer.tpl work.

So close but so far away!

Hello Group

I thank you deply for the help today. I just found it There is a search.tpl and with a include I can put it anywhere I want. So cool!

I am getting there. I have my own header (almost) now I have to add some buttons and some pages to go with the buttons.

I know you all do not have a whole bunch of time but I apprecieate the time the group has spent answering my questions.
