hi, I would like to have login form on index page (eg. www.mydomain.com) before everyone get to see the xcart contents, but I dont really know the template or php file that begin the authentication process and how to modify them.
I've searched the forum, and found some relevant topics. However, they are quiet old, and confusing me. For instance, they created login.tpl, but why in the skin1/help directory? thanks in advance for any feedback and help

A word of caution - if you do this, you will never get indexed in the search engines, as they wouldn't be able to get past the login form either.

Sorry balinor, dont quiet get you this is what I'm thinking of doing: home page -> Login -> Link1 or Link2 or Xcart having the login form at home so that people can browse through the entire site including xcart without having to log in again

Maybe I misunderstood, it sounded like you were trying to make people login before they could see the site - is that not what you want? The login form should be on the home page by default...

Sorry for the confusion
When people access our site www.mydomain.com (not /xcart/home.php) they only see brief info eg. company info, and then they are required to log in in order to access the shop section, which is www.mydomain.com/xcart.home.php and other functions outside xcart. We trying to integrate xcart with our simple html web pages. Hope this is better worded. Thank you
