hi, carrie, i have many unused products auto created when imported, there are thousands of them, it's very slow to delete them page by page, is this mod can delete those products with 0 quantity, thanks

Our importer is completely separate from X-carts. So changes to X-cart's importer won't effect ours.

Ours will not die if there are any issues with an individual product. It will simply just skip that product if it does not have enough information to create the product and it will log it to a log file for later reference. Images are not necessary to create a product, so it will just update/create the product and move on without the image.

The fields that are required to create a product are:
productcode (sku)
product (product title/name)
forsale
category
price

If you simply want to use it to update prices, quantities, etc all you need is the productcode column and then what ever field you want to update.

I hope that helps. It's highly configurable. If you have a simple file though, configuring it is easy. If you have more complicated needs (for example you need column 2 combined with column 5 to create your category path) then you might want to have us review it to quote configuring it unless you're good at php coding.

Yes we can write code that will remove any products with 0 quantity. Just drop us an email.

Yes you sure can. Most use one importer per supplier. If the suppliers carry the same product, then you'll likely need custom php coding to determine which supplier to use to update product data.

I have a store based on xcart 4.4.2. Is the Product Importer mod is compatible with all xcart versions? I need such a product uploading template which can be easily synchronized with the xcart product export pack and easily understandable by the providers so that they can sent me the template back with proper categorization of products. Basically I need to update the stock along with the proper categorization of products in my site. Please let me know if the third party mod by BCS Engineering would be helpful to solve the problem. If my requirement can be fulfilled then I am interested to buy this mod immediately.

Sorry for the delay, I've been out away on an anniversary trip and my staff doesn't check my email alerts for the forums.

Yes it works for almost all versions of X-cart. If you are interested in it, it's best to email us the details including an example file you want to import. Some are easy to do and people can do themselves, others they need us to configure it one time and then it runs on cron if they want. Others just run it manually.
