Default static vs help zone design

hey guys,

in 4.0.18

the help zone has a certain look and separations different than
the static pages. in other words they're not consistant.

my static pages are not formatted like the help zone pages.

is there a way to have the static pages with the same format
as the help zone pages? i want consistancy

hey bali! long time i dont post!! 15k posts and u still going strong...thanks man.

let me try to explain.
A. the help zone pages
Say "Help Zone" as the header, then skips a line,
then says "Privacy..."
See it here: http://www.stitches4u.com/help.php?section=contactus&mode=update

B. the static pages you add yourself
Don't say "Help Zone" and doesn't skip a line.
Right of the bat, they start at the upper top, just slightly below the
breadcrumb.
http://www.stitches4u.com/pages.php?pageid=5

So A and B have a slighlty different format and I want to have a consistent uniformity between static pages and HELP ZONE pages.

When you go from a Help zone page to a static page, you will see the difference. I want to avoid that.

What I typically do is delete the help zone title. I also use static pages for all of the help pages instead of the help.php?mode= stuff.

I was about to do the same thing as you suggested, Balinor, HOWEVER I ran into what I call "Forgot password breadcrumb hole":

On the "Forgot Password" page there is a Help Zone link presented in breadcrumbs.... How do you usually go about that?

P.S: I know this is a thread for diff version however I've been noticing the same issue in all x-cart versions I tried.

Sorry for being confusing

Let me break this into steps:

1) Balinor suggested "What I typically do is delete the help zone title. I also use static pages for all of the help pages instead of the help.php?mode= stuff."

I would like to make my own "Help Zone" static page from scratch. Then I'll make my own static pages for "About", "Terms&Condition", "FAQ" etc.

It is easy to do and everything is fine except:

2) When the customer clicks on forgot password link on home page, it brings him to "Forgot Password" page. That page has a link to the default x-cart "Help Zone" in bread crumbs...

Question : How do I prevent customers from getting into default dynamic helpzone from "Forgot Password" page?

Thanks for as always ultra fast replies, Ash

I don't think you do, just make it a generic help page with links to the other pages.

Make it simple maybe ways to contact you, about, terms, privacy.

Shouldn't be too difficult.

Thats what I thought before I red Balinor's reply about him making this modification all the time...

I wonder what he does about "Forgot Password" page issue.. I guess I 'll have to wait for him to get on in order to find out

If there is no easy solution, I was thinking to disable breadcrumbs for "Forgot Password" page, but I would prefer to avoid doing so.

I found http://forum.x-cart.com/showthread.php?t=21733 thread and get this code from there:

replace this:

{include file="location.tpl"}

with this:

{if $main ne "help"}{include file="location.tpl"}{/if}

How do i modify this code to disable breadcrumbs on "Forgot Password" page only?
