What I want to do is that in the left column where the category names are listed,
I want to list the subcategories within each category to be listed just under that category name.
How can do that?
Please help me.

Be sure to search thoroughly, especially in the new forum which has a great search tool. There are a number of mods in the Custom Mods forum that do this.

Dear Zardos,
I went the link you given and exactly that is the thing I want. But how to do that and what to change in the tpl's? How can I get that?

Another point is that..
If I pass a variable in a template while calling it with the include statement....just like the following..
{include file="exmp.tpl" name="diadem"}
and in the template if I use the follwing code
{php}
global $name;
print $name;
{/php}
why this is not working?
It is not printing anything. Why?

The above link is a mod on philj's site, phil will be able to give you more info on this, he has some nice little mod's on his site that cost very little, i use the above mode.
