im a noob at this. how would I change out the vert menu title to an image I created in photoshop.

Hello, you change that in your skin1.css file.

Look for .VertMenuTitle around line 285 and remove the background-color line and add

background-image: url(images/nav_menu_head.jpg);

Of course change the file name and upload the picture to skin1/images directory and you should be good to go.
