When users are logged into my site, and their is no activity their session will expire after a few minutes. When I go to other shopping sites it looks like they dont have a session or that it is set to a extremely long time frame.

a. How can I extend my session timeframe to a larger ammount when users are logged in so they are not timed out right away.

Also When the session timeframe is up I get a message to display on my site.
Ex message:

Access denied !
You are not allowed to access that resource!
Error ID: 36

b. Is it possible call a new static html page that will display this message rather then have the error message on my current shop site. How do you call the blank page

It is a session timeout in your php.ini, talk to your host to change it.

What about the error message. Can i create a error html page and have it display insted of having the error message display on the cart screen?

I'm sure it is possible, but I'm not sure which php file controls the redirect.

Message is coming from the 403.tpl which is insede skin folder
customer/main/403.tpl you can edit this page.
