Random Product Image

I have searched around, and it seems like the only decent version of a random product image script, is found here: http://forum.x-cart.com/viewtopic.php?t=4344

The post is well over a year old, and it doesn't run on 4.0.16.

Are there any random image scripts that are working?

I want a random image script that will randomly grab the image on the product page.

The link you posted only gets a random number, doesn't get a random image.

I went ahead and replied to the 1+ year old post.

ive used this myself and it creates a random filename such as 1.gif, 2.gif etc

just name you images like that

So have duplicate images of around an extra 100MB? It just seems more logical to grab a random image name from the database. You won't have a duplicate image, and you don't have to do anything with the code after you add more images.

I didn't think it would be so hard to do. I figured someone with little php skills could create something that works.

search for a random products mod and adapt that

I searched in the mod forum for "random and mod" and the only one I saw I already replied in.

It doesn't appear that mod is being supported anymore. If anyone has a solution I am still interested in this!
