Default Xcart vs LiteCommerce templates

Why the move away from Smarty in Xcart to the template system used by LiteCommerce?

What is used in LiteCommerce instead of Smarty?

Litecommerce uses the flexy template system.

I think qualiteam took part in some of the development of that. As to the difference it was something to do with flexy supporting the object orientated build of litecommerce.

Any experience on how well Flexy works with Dreamweaver?

I wouldn't mind seeing Xcart 5.0 rewritten in object-oriented code.

X-carts stated several times that it won't be, Litecommerce is basically x-cart in object orientated architecture.

Flexy is pretty clean as well, not as powerful as smarty but the logic is seperated more than it is in x-cart so it's not as messy.
