Hmm.. it seems like I've seen something like this on the site before.... you may want to take a look in the custom templates. Or, the search is really easy to use.

There is a topic with all the details of how to transform a products page into two columns (or more, for that matter) -- and the same logic applies to the features page.

I did it to my features and my upsell templates. OK, well, actually, I made a new features template because I still wanted the products.tpl to be single column. And the two, features and products, use the same template in the default X-Cart.

Anyway, let me see if I can find the link for you. The topic was right on the money and had me getting it working in no time flat.
