 Hopefully the XCN variants will be re-written from scratch and work way better .... Tony you want to share the main concept?

Yes, Product Variants is really complicated problem. So, we are trying to write the good spec to start from. Something that works perfectly for couple of option groups does not work for more option groups and we need to cover many use-cases in the spec. So, at this point there is nothing to share, because spec is being developed. I guess, we will discuss the concept publicly after the spec is ready.
