Hello,

I posted this in a different thread but thought maybe I'd get a response if I reposted it separately.

What I need to do is add descriptions to the top of my subcategories pages. The challenge is that every subcategory page needs a different paragraph at the top - with the link to each subcategory underneath of that.

Does anyone know what code I would use to check which subcategory page is being displayed and then put the right custom paragraph at the top?

Hi Jkirkpatrick

Login to your administration page and go to modify categories:

Main page :: Categories Management


Select the category / subcategory that you wish to give a description to and then press the MODIFY button:

Main page :: Categories Management :: Modify Category


Enter your description in the description area. You can use HTML here to improve the look / style and even embed pictures and links to other areas.

The position field defines what position the category is displayed in the cart (lower numbers are displayed higher up)

Don't forget to press the save button.

All information entered here is stored in the database.

Wow, thank you Stephen! Talk about missing the obvious

I'm surprised more sites don't use this. I assumed that since not many do that custom code was needed. This is such a great way to improve the ranking of your category and subcategory pages in the search engines.
