I have no experience with the BCSE module so I can't comment on their mod. I've been using Altered Cart's Cash Reward module for a while now and my customers love it and they have ZERO problems applying their rewards on future purchases because Bill made it so easy for them. I get more sales and no hassles
The only issue I've ever had with this module was MY FAULT during an x-cart version upgrade and Bill pointed me to the exact file to fix.
My only recommendation would be to have Alterd Cart (Bill) do the installation for you.
