Looking at the v4.7.3 version, there's no patch .diff files, therefore just uploading the contents will override any previous modifications that may have been made to the major files it replaces...

The eBay installer works with no issues for default software. You can find corresponding patches in the installation archive

Using the patches, you can manually apply the necessary changes without using install_ebay.php.
