I must say that this mod is definately worth having if your store sells something that requries a lot of detailed images.
We purchased this mod and it's on our development site right now, and allowing the customer to zoom in on the highly detailed picture is going to make a huge difference.
Of course, the way I implemented it the detailed images no longer have to load on the product page, which speeds up loading times dramatically. Will post a link when it's live.
