Default BCS Drop Shipper Pro Calculation Issue

Last year I purchased X-cart and the BCS drop-shipper module and shpping per item module. The drop ship module was not what I expected as it did not calculate shipping fromt eh shippers destination. Around the first of the year I discovered there was a new Drop Shipper Pro module which seemed to be the answer I was hoping for. After verifying that the new module would work with the shipping per item module I went ahead and purchased the upgrade.

It's still not quite what I had in mind but was much closer and I think I can make it work for me. I did however run into another serious snag in my road to finally getting the new version of my store up.

I don't know if this is a bug or if I'm setting things up incorrectly or perhaps I've missed a setting. Hopefully someone can either point me in the right direction or verify that is is bug so it can be fixed.

Upon testing the various shipping scenarios I discovered that the shipping calculations were correct if the only items in the store had either free or fixed shipping charges. The calculations also appear correct if the cart only contained weight-based shipping charges. When there was a combination of weight based shipping items and fixed shipping items I got some extra charges which made the shipping too high.

The extra shipping charge is different depending on whether I have UPS or post office selected as the shipping method. It appears that I can't compute the shipping charge of an item with a fixed shipping charge unless I also select a shipping method for that item via the shipping per item drop drown. While the chage is different depending on whether UPS or post office is selected it is the same for each of the items that have a fixed shipping charge so if the post office is the selected shipping method, then I get an additional $4.95 for each fixed shipping item when there is also a weight-based shipping item. Two items with weight based shipping means an extra $9.90 shipping charge. One fixed shipping items means an additional $4.95.

It seems to me that for these items it's taking the minimum weight and and computing a weight based shipping charge for that item in addition to the fixed shipping price. I've tried just about every situation I could think of and it has been consistent.

Telling my customers to put in two seperate orders is not an option. having to deal with this issue by refunding the overcharge is not an option. My two best selling items are drop-shipped from their manufacturers and they both have fixed shipping charges.

Any help or ideas would be appreciate.
