There IS going to be a manual though, right?
Smarty 2.6.2 compliance is a must. The speed benefits are tremendous and carrying on with a new major release based on 2.5.0 would be a poor decision. We would be stuck with an outdated method of templating for at least another 2 years. By upgrading to 2.6.2 you will allow users the option to take advantage of future refinements to the Smarty templating engine. Locking us into 2.5.0 is limiting our abilities and options.
Please X-Cart. The design mods and minor features are nice, but compliance at tthe code level is an absolute must. We can always mod our own little features as needed. It's the actual store architecture that you guys should be focusing on IMHO. That is where you can make the biggest impact with this product. Code and documentation.
