Thanks, so X-cart BACKUP functionality is not good? And I have been using it for 14 years backing up data, but never needed to use it to restore data. It wouldn't restore?
Correct. If your store database crashed, and you relied on the x-cart database backup functionality and restored it, your site would not work. You would have to reinstall all the databases from third-party mods and would lose all that data.
Backups really shouldn't be done manually anyway, they should be handled by a combination of RAID/R1Soft and/or a redundant cloud system.
Too many possible reasons why your site could be loading that poorly, your web-host should be able to tell you - if not, you should move hosts. Also look into software like New Relic.
