I wish the mod's error message concerning shipping rates was clearer (or that it would not occur at all) because customers can't figure out what is wrong and unless they tell us and we explain what the need to do to get through it we lose some customers.

This is odd, the code removes the spaces before and after the zip before processing. If this is something you can reproduce on your site please contact me
support@alteredcart.com and I will find out why the space isn't being properly trimmed.
(Also, in the next update there will be much more detailed error messages. I agree this would be helpful.)
