to update, Dale has an unusual server configuration, using software that is a mix of Centos, BlueQuartz (? old software from Sun that has been open-sourced), Apache, etc. It doesn't seem to like rewrites in the .htaccess file, so he's checking with his server administrator for more information.
Normally I can troubleshoot issues like this, but I've never seen a configuration using BlueQuartz before, and there's not alot of documentation for it online.
