I'm happy to announce a new module for X-Cart 5 - "
Special Offers: Buy X Get Y".
At the moment the module supports promotions where customers need to buy N items from specified categories to get a discount on M of them (the cheapest ones). This allows you to create special offers like "Each 2nd shirt at the half price", "Buy 5 books and get $5 off on the cheapest one", "Get every 3rd product for free" and so on.
We have plans on adding more "Buy X Get Y" promotion types (for example, instead of giving a discount the module will place a free gift to the cart). So, if you need a promotion that is not supported by the module yet, please send me a note and we may give that improvement a higher priority in our plans for that module
