please bear in mind that we are on version 3.5.9 of the existing stable branch and there are still some bugs with that (albeit minor)
i would not recommend version 4 for a live store until at least 2 minor revisions. ie. 4.0.2 (and that will still have bugs in it)
on the basis that xcart seem to release these once a month you could safely assume that this version will be out on the 14th September 2004 or thereabouts
