Comment for Sergey and intended to be shared with the entire QT Team: This thread has been bugging me all day.
I'll bet I speak for a silent majority of XC users that PRAISE and appreciate your work. I cringe when I see those recent sour comments. Why? Because I know what kind of incredible deal X-Cart is.
$149 and you get free lifetime updates? And we've gotten four, what I would call major, updates in one year??
That's a deal. Just compare that with the price of Magento and many other leading carts, and you'll see that XC is the best deal
by far. I know because I did a huge analysis before committing to XC last year:
http://www.shoppingcart-program.com/2010/11/shopping-cart-comparison/ So for that reason, I just get angry when people diss QT about minor crap.
Sure, XC has bugs. Every app does. Even massive Microsoft has serial complainers of all their bugs, pricing, delays, etc. Hey, I don't hesitate to lay into QT when the complaints are valid, such as the ridiculous delay in preparing for the USPS API update in Jan 2011, or the outdated froogle feed that was in need of updating until 4.4.4. And I've complained loudly about other bugs.
But to wait just a few more days for the upgrade pack? I can do that. I got no problem with QT's attempts to bring in revenue as fast as they can, in light of the deal I'm getting.
