Yeah, FileZilla is pretty full featured and really quick. It's got the multi-threaded transfers (like LeechFTP and many others). What sold me is that the config file is in XML and can easily be backed up. Cute and SmartFTP stored their sessions in the registry I believe and I've lost my entire set of sites before.
But yes, FileZilla is free and open source.
