show in cart.php replace in cart.php?mode=checkout

Not sure on this one (now there is a surprise)
Can anyone tell me the smarty to do this.
I've got a bit of text set that shows in cart.php
but i want to show something different in it's place if customer is on cart.php?mode=checkout
