Donavichi...I've managed to replicate the problem you highlight on another machine. (my machine is IE6 WinXPSP2 as well though, so i don't know why thats different?!?!).
It seems that for the first page or two IE doesn't switch the tab images quickly enough...but after that it gets on fine with them.

Anyone got any ideas as to how to fix this (let alone why IE can't cope with it!)?
