After getting no response I figured it out myself (so I guess thanks) so hopefully this will help someone else. Here's the new code that will remove the icon (from pages with sub-categories) and I've also added "Subcategories..." that will rest above them (to remove that, simply remove the Subcategories... Works in 4.0.3 too.
