I would try in skin1/single/home.tpl and set the body tag to LEFTMARGIN=0 TOPMARGIN=0 RIGHTMARGIN=0 BOTTOMMARGIN=0 MARGINWIDTH=0 MARGINHEIGHT=0

try also in skin1/customer/home.tpl

skin/skin1.css
