And by the way - hide prices and require registration are 2 different things. I want customers to be able to browse the store, see everything and checkout. And be forced to create an account at checkout as part of the process.

The hide pricing module work the other way around - forces customers to register in order to be able to add products to cart. This of course also will work for some stores types which want to have a no-price catalog until logged in.
