Thank you for the feedback, Steve, we do appreciate it.
However, I would like to note that we have the module called 'Hide Prices' which hides prices and disables checkout for non-registered customers.
Also, the ability to approve customer accounts before they have the ability to see prices and checkout is planned to be implemented in future releases of the module.
