Although I own xcart banner system (included in gold plus), I also purchased xbanners

beacuse xbanners solves certain issues that xcart banners can't solve... like my mobile template
HOWEVER -- I prefer xcart banners for the home page -- I like the random animations.
so i use both.

you can constrain a banner to a specific product page, or a specific static page, or groupings -- then you can also EXCLUDE a banner from a specific product - but still show on all other products in the category. it's deep.
I think the xbanners investment was a good value for me. If I didn't already own xcart banners, I would have just purchased xbanners. But since xcart banners were bundled, I can use both.
