I'm in the same boat as you. 4.5.2 is full of bugs, but I don't want to just waste time sitting and waiting for 4.5.3. So I'm going ahead with my customization, keeping a log of all files and settings changed. When 4.5.3 is released, I plan to just replace the files that have changed between 4.5.2 and 4.5.3 since installing the upgrade will likely fail after I've made so many changes. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that will work and that 4.5.3 will not be so buggy.
