I'm trying to customize the Ask Question Popup Form and Email.

I've edited the following (attached for viewing)...
common_files/customer/main/ask_question.tpl
common_files/mail/ask_question.tpl
root/popup_ask.php
I see the new field (Tradein) in the popup box, but I'm not seeing the field name or field data in my email. So it's as if the data is not making it past the initial form. Any suggestions?
