Yes, I did try that, and it seems to be pointing to the altskin.css file, within the fancycat ref. I can change the width of the flyout menu, but still not the font size.
I could only find 2 font references in the altskin, this was one of them
fancycat-icons-c ul.fancycat-icons-level-1 li a:active{font-size:13px;}
Neither made a difference.
I am confused!
