I have successfully setup a module for this that will automatically add tracking email notification for USPS orders. I'm working on adding UPS as well as FEDEX email notifications to this module in the next few days.

Basically this module will enter the customers first name, last name and email address to USPS tracking on thier site and automatically submit them to email tracking updates on their order. So your customer will receive emails notifying them where there order is as it passes through each USPS facility until it is delivered. This will do the same for UPS and FEDEX when I have them included.
