I've got a mod that uses the power of flash. What it does is that you can create any custom button, with any custom font, with any custom style you want (drop-shadows, borders, etc), and the only thing you need to do is pass on what text you want the button to say and it'll automatically generate. The file is less than 2K, and when you load it once, it's stored in the cache anyways. Perfect for getting rid of those ugly buttons, as well as generate new buttons on the fly. That'll screw your seo into the ground, have to be careful with flash as the search engines won't follow those buttons if they are flash generated.
Major change happening in microsoft world of browsers, the methods for active X components mickysoft use are not thier patent and they've recently lost the rights to it, they have to remove the embedded methods they have been using, the company that beat them in court was awarded over $500 million in damages.
In plain english that means applets like Flash won't be autodetected in the next browser updates using the existing code, we'll most probably have to update the html code all round whereever flash is used if we want to be compatible.
