I have to say that personally speaking and not that of Firetank Software, a lot of things seem to have to be mentioned from a customer POV and nothing is truly highlighted till a release and then customers and store owner experience gets mentioned. For example take the 4.4.x branch of a release. Not so much out of the blue but no real documentation for DB changes for anyone who developes for x-cart.

4.4.x has been a step forward in a lot of respects, bearing in mind that I was in the era of xcart from 3.3.x

So what id like to ask is that we are all aware of what the other shopping carts offer, what can we say to x-cart to say this is what perhaps the others are offering and is now part of the game, or do we just lie in hope and wait to see what happens with a bit of faith
