If 4.4.x is like previous versions - it is not a trivial change. Because of the way XCART handles options & variants, to get all that information for each product on the products page could potentially significantly increase the load time for that page, depending on how many products are being displayed.

There are also mods available that help if you want customers to be able to order from a single page - like QuickOrder - but you will need to look into compatibility with your version.
