You can see instances often where google (almost 90% of searches currently are done on google) will rank a site highly for a particular keyword or keyword phrase where the only occurrence of that keyword is in the filename or subdomain. http://webhosting.yahoo.com (comes up #2 for 'webhosting' in google) is a good example. http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/webhosting is another. Remember webhosting is different from "web hosting."

Site title always outranks anything on the file name itself, I've seen an increasing trend with google choosing to list the product.php page over the catalog generated page with the x-cart sites we work on.
Googles spidering more dynamic content than ever now, problem with x-cart using the product title is in some cases the title is very long creating a file like "product_123_really_nice_computer_case_half_price. html". Googles changing all the time, not seen much information on how the longer file names are treated.
